Meetings

Towpath poets met for a gingko walk at the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art. All told, 8 poets gathered to explore the museum, especially visiting a striking exhibit “Into the Waters with Senju and Bingyi,” and wrote poems to share afterwards.

Towpath poet Roberta Beary published a mini-essay titled “From Deep Breath: A Book of Haiku Evolutions” in MacQueen’s Quinterly. Through the lens of their well-known poem about ‘the weight of an unworn necklace,’ Beary compares the personal journey of writing the poem to the personal interpretations that readers bring. 

Additionally, Beary’s ‘hot haibun’, written for Rattle’s weekly prompt lines, was selected by Rattle creative editor Katie Dozier as one of 10 haibun for Rattlecast #355 (August 24, 2026.)
