Meetings
On July 13th, Towpath members gathered via Zoom to share recent work and workshop poems together. The group also discussed the upcoming Towpath anthology (published every 5 years) and plans for an in-person renku in September.
The next regular meeting will be held September 14th via Zoom, and an in-person renku party is planned for the following weekend the 21st.
Announcements
On July 13th Roberta Beary presented a haibun conversation workshop at the Flash Fiction Festival in Bristol, UK, along with festival curator Jude Higgins. Due to high demand, participation was limited to the first 20 enrollees. Two participants were awarded prizes for their first haibun. The following week, Beary, in their role as Roving Ambassador for the Haiku Foundation, discussed the value of local haiku groups with Oxford haiku group leader Mark Ritchie and cattails senryu editor David J. Kelly, in the Cotswolds village of Blockley.
Additionally, Roberta Beary and Susan Burch had work selected for the 2024 Dwarf Stars Anthology: The Best Very Short Speculative Poems Published in 2023, Brittany Hause, editor.
Julie Bloss Kelsey won Katanogahara Monogatari Prize in the 5th Star Haiku Contest, for her poem:

Elizabeth Black was awarded first prize in the Sanford Goldstein International Tanka Contest.
