14 poets of Towpath gathered on the 14th of March. The group welcomed a new member, and shared and workshopped poems. “Sound” was a major theme of workshop discussion, including rhyme, sibilance, and assonance. Other key points were seasonal references, baseball, and civil rights. The group also discussed a goal of having more presentations or discussions on aspects of craft. Roberta Beary volunteered to present on memory in haiku and haibun at the next meeting.

The next meeting will be held May 9th, at 1pm via Google Meet. As a gathering space for haiku poets in the National Capital Area and Chesapeake Bay region, we welcome prospective members to join us for a meeting. Contact Matt Snyder snyder.matt@gmail.com with your interest.
