Meetings

Towpath poets gathered via zoom for the regular bi-monthly meeting on May 11, 2024. The group shared and workshopped poems, and discussed the recent group gingko walk at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, VA, as well as a renku meetup planned for September 21.

The next regular meeting will be held July 13th via zoom.

 

Announcements

Carousel, a new collection of haiku by Roberta Beary, is now available from Snapshot Press. Also, in their role as Roving Ambassador for The Haiku Foundation, Roberta recently visited Malta, where they met with haiku poets Paul Callus and Francis Attard. Roberta also attended a Dublin, Ireland gathering of haiku poets on May 24, 2024, which featured a reading by Yukon-based writer kjmunro, who runs The Haiku Foundation’s Haiku Dialogue. 

Confluence, a new journal edited by Ryland Li, among others, will begin taking submissions June 15th. Confluence aims to feature 1-2 poets per issue, emphasizing community among accepted poets and seeking to reach a broad audience beyond English language haiku poets.

Susan Burch’s collection The Alchemy of Love was selected as a 2024 winner of Brooks Books HIGH/COO Chapbooks Annual Competition. The book will be available for purchase this summer. Congratulations, Susan!
